I was born in Washington D.C., grew up in Spokane and majored in math at Cornell University.
At Cornell, I worked at the Mathematics and Engineering Libraries for four years, ran Risley Theatre for four seasons, and took an undergrad astronomy class taught by Carl Sagan. In Ithaca, I worked as a database administrator at Housing Solutions and at Collegetown Video and Comics for Collectors.
Post-college, I moved to Los Angeles and worked at the USC Math Department for two years. Afterwards, I moved to Seattle and worked at Foreign Relations as the system administrator/web designer for another couple of years. In 1998, I moved to New York City and started working at the New York Society Library as the computer specialist. In 2002, I was promoted to Head of Systems.
I currently live in New York City.
