Toy Soldiers
"Years of bad behavior are about to pay off."
(1991)
Director: Daniel Petrie
Writer: William Kennedy & Daniel Petrie
Genre: Teens in Peril
Cast:
Plot Synopsis:
A moronic terrorist thinks it's a good idea to hold a reform school gang of boys hostage in exchange for the release of his jailed father. It's not, and our plucky group of teens manage to save the day.
Favorite Moments:
- The delightfully gratuitous flogging scene with Sean Astin ("Oh, shit!") dripping wet, clad only in a towel
- Sean Astin selling alcohol that "looks, tastes and smells" like mouthwash. This reminds me of the saying: "If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably *is* a duck"
- George Perez and T.E. Russell running around, jacking up the beefcake quotient
